Dual Nationalities

This is the first of my abstract portraits aimed at trying to capture an aspect of a person that has affected my life. Each of these aims to describe what I see as the most important parts of a person. In this piece this person lived both in Brazil and the USA during her formative years. This became the main theme of this piece. The USA is represented using the proportions of the American flag using green (representing Brazil) to fill the zone where the American flag has its strips. The green representing Brazil was altered to highlight the her brightness. While white was chosen where the stars normally sit to highlight the fact that her upbringing has created an independent person that stands out from the crowd or the in this case the sea of green.

This is another one of my abstract portraits aimed at trying to capture an aspect of a person that has affected my life. Each of these aims to describe what I see as the most important parts of a person. In this piece I am showing the interactions of people coming through my life.  Lines crisscross your path, moving over and under, but some lines stand out and alter your path through life.
