About ZESstudio

ZESstudio was created to serve as an all-encompassing design studio believing in a better, smarter, and more advanced design solution whether it be graphic design, art, or building design. Studio creator Zachary Smith believes in creating a better world through this design idea and spends much of his time helping non-profits and local start-ups by offering his design services for free to help aid this mission.

Also central to ZESstudio is the idea of leaving the planet a better place then when we arrived. We are always on top of the latest trends in sustainable (green) design in architecture and design in general. This philosophy exists down to even the littlest things like our office being heated by BioHeat provided by Simply Green. On December 1st, 2009 ZESstudio also announced its membership as a Business Partner in the Green Alliance, a group of local NH, ME, and MA businesses working together to create a better planet.

Zachary Smith, Assoc. AIA
Principal Designer

Zachary is the principal designer and founder of ZESstudio.  He holds a master’s of architecture degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and also holds a bachelor’s of science degree in architectural design from Keene State College.  Zach has extensive experience working on the New Hampshire seacoast and has been working in this area since high school in such offices as TMS Architects, Art Form Architecture, and AG Architects.

“The advancement of art and technology are not two separate things; art informs technology and technology informs art.  The relationship between these two parts of design when completely understood is what creates great design whether it is architecture, graphic design, photography, or art in general.”  This idea is central to Zach’s design process and the core to his beliefs as a designer.
